Welcome to our chapter

EAA CHAPTER 898 UPDATE

Greetings to the EAA 898 Members,

As we start 2024, let's review our accomplishments in 2023. With help from the Membership and our Board of Directors the Chapter has had a very busy and successful Summer. We had three very successful Young Eagles flights, flying over 50 Young Eagles on each flight.  We sponsored another dinner for the aerobatic pilots competing in the annual IAC 52 Kathy Jaffe Aerobatic Competition, as well as assisted their Support Team on the ground during the competition.  We sponsored a Rusty Pilots Program; Jessica Cox was also at one of our meetings and Builds to see the progress on her project, the Impossible Plane.  We have hosted a FASST Team Talk as well having Ron Smith from the IAC Chapter 52 Aerobatic team provide us with insights on aerobatic flight.  We took a tour of Steve Baska's hanger that had some really interesting planes!  Bob Newman and Bill Martin helped us to transition the Builds into our Hanger (#38) where we continue to build the Thatcher and the RV10.  In November we had an exciting tour of the War Birds at MJX. December capped our year with another great Holiday party at Ocean County Airport.

Hopefully 2024 will be as busy and exciting as 2023.

Please continue to come out and support the Chapter sponsored programs and events.  Additionally, please continue to support your Board of Directors with program ideas and things you would like to do.

Thank you

Jeff Hamilton, President
